Around Huron Lake in 8 days: Best of UP, Part 2 – Beaver Basin Hiking – Twelvemile Beach
Hiking in the Beaver Basin can start from the trailing parking lot beside the Little Beaver Lake Campground, after a 5 km of unpaved, narrow, twisting, and size restrictive road.

Trails vary between 5 and 8 km round trip, but because we were planning to give another try for an evening cruise (hoping we could get spots on the last trip), we took the shortest trail to Lake Superior. We passed by the Little Beaver Lake, and the Little Beaver Creek. If you are wondering, The Beaver Lake was further to the East, and we didn’t have time to reach that.

Enchanting forest, evergreen colours, the little trail we took to the Twelvemile Beach at Superior Lake had fully surprised me with the type of flowers to say so.
There were several types of mushrooms along the trail, varying in size and colours, so I took the liberty to re-name it the Twelve Mushroom Trail.
If you know any type, please leave a note and let me know, I would really like to learn more about mushroomsJ
Located along the Lake Superior shoreline, Twelvemile Beach is a wonderful place for long walks along the shore, to have a quiet picnic while enjoying the blues.

Up to this day, this was the finest sand I’ve ever seen in North America.

Little Beaver Lake looks beautiful. And Lake Superior is always captivating. Love the fine sandy beach.
