CA, Ontario – A symphony of colours: Brueckner Rhododendron Gardens

If you are ever passing through Mississauga during the spring, or summer time, then you should stop here. Brueckner Rhododendron Gardens is a waterfront park with many varieties of ornamental shrubs, trees, and flowers, that are in full bloom at the end of May.

A nice small park to walk, relax, or sit by the Lake Ontario, I found it perfect in this hot evening of May.

Great for flower or bird lovers, it’s just a quiet city park suitable for everyone.

If you find a nice spot, you can also relax on a blanket to soak in your favourite scent of a random tree.

Tip(s) of the day:

  • There is no admission fee, and parking is plentiful;
  • Public restrooms are available;
  • The waterfront lakeshore trail passes through this park, so you can also bring your bike;
  • Although the park is small, and the parking lot might fill in quickly, I did not feel a crowded place.

    1. It is a small park I passed by many times in the past. A friend told me they are in full bloom now, so I’ve had to adjust my plans on Friday evening😍 Thank you for reading! Hope you’re having a great long weekend!

    1. You’re very welcome Maggie, I was just thinking it is like a colour therapy😍 We needed so much these colours, especially after the cold season.
      Hopefully the weather gets better and you can enjoy the outdoors!
      All the best,

  1. Great post and so many wonderful photos, Christie. Although Rhododendron is a non-native, invasive species in Ireland that’s slowly killing our native species and habitats right before our very eyes, I still love seeing these vibrant shrubs come to life every spring. Thanks for sharing and have a good day. Aiva 🙂 xxx

    1. Oh, so sorry to hear they are an invasive species in Ireland. With our harsh winters and hot summers this is not the case in Ontario, although I see other invasive plants in our parks as well.
      Have an amazing week ahead, Aiva!

    1. Oh isn’t that sweet? So glad they are in full bloom on the Oregon Coast as well. Although I’m sure the blooming time is much longer than here, in Ontario😍
      Enjoy your road trip Curt!
