The summer was upon us when I realized there was still a lot I wanted to do before experiencing a new season.
Our love for long road trips started many years ago. We find joy preparing a road trip, and get excitement to the max with every new adventure on the road. Having our own schedule leaves us the flexibility to adjust the plans on the go, giving us a certain freedom, especially in these pandemic times.
The story began on August 24th, 1914, when a small black bear cub was orphaned by a hunter, and brought to the Canadian Pacific Railway Train Station in White River, Ontario.
Located 95 km west of Sudbury, the town of Massey is known today for its little provincial park, named Chutes, after the chutes that used to bypass the rapids on the Aux Sables River.
Dundas Valley Conservation Area is one of the southern Ontario’s most spectacular natural areas. It offers great hiking opportunities along a small section of the Bruce Trail and few other side trails that weave through the forest along Niagara Escarpment.
Being part of a large glacial valley from about 10,000 years ago that spreads into Lake Ontario, this conservation is actually famous for its 1,200 ha of lush Carolinian forests, a rich and unique ecosystem found in southern Ontario.
If life gives you lemons, you can make a lemonade, but if the sky gives you rain, then go to waterfalls!
After few rainy days at the beginning of July, we decided it is a great time to visit what else than Felker’s Falls.
Only 13 minutes by ferry from downtown Toronto, The Island beckoned to me for awhile, making me wonder what it has to offer, especially after so many months of lockdown.
This year, the spring arrived stealthily in Ontario, and suddenly I realized it was gone already.
From March to May, Mother Nature put on her new appearances, and we watched the flowers blooming, as we eagerly awaited them for so long. We enjoyed the sun and the clear skies, the birds and their songs.
If you are ever passing through Mississauga during the spring, or summer time, then you should stop here. Brueckner Rhododendron Gardens is a waterfront park with many varieties of ornamental shrubs, trees, and flowers, that are in full bloom at the end of May.
–Friends or foes? The guard took us by surprise, blocking up the entrance.

–From Toronto, was our short answer.
–No enemies are allowed inside!!
He suddenly started laughing, definitely by the look of our faces. A second later it struck me this is French land.. such a welcoming people LOL
